Celebrating the big 65!

It has happened....I have hit Medicare. At least it is still available at this point. What a celebration I enjoyed with my family. My girls, Deena and Denise, and grandgirl Devin took me on an all day celebration on Saturday. I was picked up at 8:30 a.m. Off to Starbucks where we enjoyed coffee and goodies along with my Mom, sister Sheila, and niece Amanda. Off to Kathy's Nails for a pedicure/manicure. When we came out, we found the car windows painted with such phrases as "65 and alive", "life's a trip", "happy birthday" and "here we come". I received a lot of Happy Birthday's from people at the stop lights. On to Raney House Quilt Shop on Hwy 183 for some shopping. Next heading into Austin for a light lunch at Central Market. After we were refueled on to Ginger's for more shopping. Everyone got a kick out of us arriving with our party hats on! Had to pick up a few more things there! Next stop the Cupcake Trailer for some sweets. Licking our fingers we proceeded to Sew Much More for an embroidery CD I wanted to get with my birthday discount. Time for a little rest so we go to The Domain where we did a wine sampling on a patio while listeningt to live music. By this time we were ready to head to the hotel to rest and get ready for the evening. Dressed for the occasion we went to Truluck's where we were met by the rest of my immediate family, husband Tommy, son Will, sisters Sheila and Mary Elizabeth, Mom, Granddaughter Madison, niece Amanda, Deena's friend Mike, Denise's husband Doug. What a meal! But do we call it a night? Hot hardly. On to some surrounding clubs ending up at The Qua where we shared toasts and some dancing. This ended my day of surprises. Don't I have some great kids to plan and execute this day for their dear old mom. This is a birthday to remember in more ways than one!
